KATCHAFIRE ARE ‘ON THE ROAD AGAIN’

kat2012

Constantly touring worldwide, blowing away their massive fan base with a killer live show, back by popular demand, Katchafire are about to hit Australian shores in the New Year. For the third time since the album release in June!

‘On The Road Again’, Katchafire’s 4th studio album, was released in Australia in June, through new independent label LION HOUSE RECORDS. Following tradition, of all previous albums reaching Platinum or Double Platinum, ‘On The Road Again’ has reached Platinum status in their home land, Aotearoa / New Zealand.

With some of the most quality roots reggae from the southern hemisphere, Katchafire have been blazing their trail across the globe since the release of their first album in 2003. Thousands of concerts, critical acclaim, millions of youtube hits and now with the drop of this 4th studio album, Katchafire’s reach continues to explode. The band has completed huge tours to the USA, Europe, UK, New Caledonia, Brazil & Australia, this year alone. Thousands are singing along to their infectious and soulful melodies worldwide.

Many cities and towns in Australia have been lucky enough to experience Katchafire’s deep reggae-soul rhythms and infectious heavyweight grooves on this album tour. The band has experienced sell out shows and rocking crowds along the east coast and in WA. They will now return to our shores, in January 2012, hitting some of the few places they have missed this year; Brisbane, Adelaide, Coffs Harbour and Yamba, also re-visiting Byron Bay to appease the crowds who were turned away at their last sold out show.

Fans will be eager to see New Zealand’s finest and hear the new album tunes live.

Bob Marley Celebrations

Bob2012

Family, friends and fans alike make their way to Jamaica each February to celebrate the legend who was Bob Marley. There's little chance of the world forgetting Bob Marley's music, he remains as popular today as he did back when he was touring the world, so the event is far from some stuffy attempt at popularising his back catalogue - it's rather a full on celebration of reggae music. There's always stellar line-ups, often including concerts by many of his children such as Ziggy Marley, and there really is no better place to listen to reggae than in the hills of St. Ann Parish, surrounded by Rastas with spliffs as big as your head and tunes as phat as your dreadlocks. In Australia every major city will be hosting a mega party for the One Love super star.

Australia's Bob Marley Celebrations Events :

Feb 4 - Melbourne - The Corner Hotel From 8:30 PM

Feb 5 Perth - Railway Hotel From 4PM

Feb 11 - Brisbane - Upstairs @ Woodland Bar From 9 PM

Check the Calendar and Events Tab for more info and flyers.

Gappy Ranks Australian Tour 2011

Gappy_Ranks

Gappy Ranks was born and grown in Harlesden NW10, London. Father Jamaican, Mother Dominican, a good combination like Rice & Peas. Early support and recognition of this rising young talent who had made his studio debut with the Ruff Cutt band aged 11 came from local sound system operators and pirate radio stations and soon led to his link up and studio baptism with Stonebridge stars Suncycle Crew.

The embers were soon burning and the young artist next landed a series of killer link ups with the likes of Kray Twinz, Twista and MC Lethal B. It was his initial hit for the legendary Peckings crew "Mountain Top" that really lit the blue touch paper and when the follow up "Heaven In My Eyes" bust international Gappy found himself in the driving seat of an unstoppable rocket to stardom. “Stinking Rich” & “Rising Out The Ghetto” consolidated his success, his impact on the dancehall world mirroring fellow Londoner Amy Winehouses revolutionising of the world R&B scene.

The release of his eagerly debut Greensleeves album "Put The Stereo On" in 2010 upped the ante to another level, the album saw Gappy completing his project with the Peckings crew, producers of Bitty McLeans classic “On Bond Street” album and like that best selling set “Put The Stereo On” is launched on authorised versions from Studio One, Treasure Isle & Bunny Lee. Whether it's "as good as old" gems like the title track "Put The Stereo On" (a record so in-demand the dancehall government have had to step in to authorize it's immediate release), the straight to the heart romantic beat of "Happiest Day Of My Life" or the awesome word, sound & power of “Thy Shall Love” Gappy has it all under lock and key, he can sing like Tarrus and spit lyrics like Kartel and displays this stunning versatility both on stage and in the studio.

In 2011 the UK Dancehall star is back with his second LP entitled "Thanks & Praise" which is a modern Reggae and Dancehall album including tracks which feature Delly Ranx and Russian on Gappy's new single "Tun Up".

Gappy is also proving to be one of the most popular live draws on the planet headlining shows across Europe, Asia & USA.

Australia get ready as its now your turn!
